Watch Wild at Heart Online: A Confusing and Unfulfilling Film

David Lynch's 'Wild at Heart' is a film that has garnered a cult following over the years, but upon re-watching it, I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed by its disjointed narrative and lack of depth. The plot is a collection of Lynchian weirdness and gore, with references to the classic film 'The Wizard of Oz' that feel more like gimmicky afterthoughts than carefully crafted parts of the story.

I went into this film aware of its reputation for being a wild ride, but I wasn't prepared for how little impact it would have on me. The characters of Sailor and Lula are left drifting in a relatively empty film, with no real sense of purpose or direction. Their journey west is filled with encounters with weird and wonderful people, but these moments feel more like random assemblages than meaningful interactions.
